Kristen Stewart's new movie "The Runaways" will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January. Here's a photo of Kristen and Dakota from the movie. You can also view the screening times of "The Runaways" here.


Of all the bands to come out of the 1970s Los Angeles music scene, The Runaways are by far the most uniquely fascinating. This is partially due to their music but more so to the fact that they were teenage girls whose wild and reckless lifestyle was the stuff of legend.

Focusing on the duo of guitarist/vocalist Joan Jett and lead vocalist Cherie Currie as they navigate a rocky road of touring and record-label woes, the film chronicles the band's formation as well as their meteoric rise under the malevolent eye of an abusive manager.

Acclaimed video artist Floria Sigismondi directs from her own script, and her luscious camerawork captures every sweaty detail—from the filthy trailer where the women practice to the mosh pits of Tokyo. What really makes the film cook are the sizzling performances by Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart. Not to be missed, The Runaways is an ode to an era and a groundbreaking band.

Spending the day on the set of her new movie, Kristen Stewart was spotted plugging away on “The Runaways” in Los Angeles on Sunday (July 19).

Joined by co-star Dakota Fanning and fellow band characters, all of the members had shirts on showing their names as they strolled about the set.

Directed by Floria Sigismondi, the rocker chick flick is described as “a coming-of-age biopic about ‘70s teenage band The Runaways.”

Making sure everything goes according to plan, singer Joan Jett was also on-hand for the day’s filming - as she’s been a mainstay on the set throughout production.

Dakota Fanning signing autographs for fans. Jamie Campbell Bower and Cameron Bright hanging out downtown, and Ashley Greene grabbing street meat! Her stock just went up. Sigh. I miss street meat. My stomach was stronger back in the day. I could go for street meat any time. Then a couple of years ago, well, it changed. My intestines decided I was officially an old hag in her 30s and wouldn’t accept it. F-cker.

On set at New Moon today – Kristen is shooting interiors. Mostly the “depression” montages where Bella decides her life is worthless without Edward. Ugh. She sits by the window a lot and mopes. And has nightmares.

Also shooting with a different crew – most of the vampires in town are doing green screen work to complement footage that was complete over the last few days: fight sequences, some added stunts, something about a vampire getting his head torn off. More angles of Edward getting tossed around, against the wall, up towards the ceiling, and Alice unable to help him.

Here’s an added little bonus for you Pattinson fans: am told he’s been working out a lot lately. At the gym almost every day.

Here are Michael Sheen and Jamie Campbell Bower arriving yesterday for New Moon. For those of you who are not familiar, Michael Sheen is the father of Kate Beckinsale’s daughter. It’s widely believed she left him for Len Wiseman during the filming of Underworld. Michael received critical acclaim in both The Queen and most recently in Frost/Nixon.

Meanwhile, Kate’s only contribution these days has been overdressing.

Kristen Stewart And Dakota Fanning: New 'Twilight' BFFs?

Kristen Stewart sat down with Larry Carroll during the press junket of her new film coming out called "The Cake Eaters." She dishes about how excited she is to work with Dakota Fanning who will be playing Jane in "New Moon" and Cherie Currie in the biopic "The Runaways" where Kristen will play Joan Jett.



"I can't wait to actually work with her," the 18-year-old Stewart told us after hearing the Fanning news. "We aren't BFFs yet, but hopefully."

"[We] have a short amount of time to do that in between the two other ['Twilight'] films, because we are shooting them back-to-back," Stewart said. "They shut down for, I think, eight weeks, in between 'New Moon' and 'Eclipse."

Looks like Kristen and Dakota will have a lot of female bonding time. Rumor has it that Dakota will play vampire Jane in "New Moon" and according to ET Online, she will also be joining Kristen in her biopic "The Runaways."
